"This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 NIV
Do you know that we can walk with God and have a Joyful existence. Joy comes from the spirit and it is eternal. It is not circumstantial, that is, its not based on external circumstances. Joy is rooted and grounded in Jesus and our personal, continuous relationship with Him. Joy is victorious over all circumstances; it is strengthened through trials.
Joy is a fruit of the spirit: a spiritual force against which there is no law. The Joy of the Lord is what keeps you strong in time of trouble. It is what Paul and Silas had at midnight. They broke out in Joyful praise onto the Lord irrespective of the predicaments they were in. When Joy is gone, weakness comes and when weakness takes root, faith decreases. You cannot live by faith without joy because it takes strength to live by faith. Let nothing steal your Joy, the joy of the Lord is truly your strength. Joy will always make your day perfect.
